Priscilla's maiden name is spelled differently by each recorder of history, ie., Savage has it spelled BONETT, while Dictionary of Marriages shows both BENET AND BONNETT, as well as BENNETT--the most usual spelling by other historians and transcribers. We prefer to use the BENNETT spelling, but are aware of these others in our search for additional information on the Carpenter family members. For detail regarding Priscilla Bennett-Carpenter, see William (Deacon) Carpenter--her husband. Priscilla Bennett, daughter of Edward and Elizabeth Bennett, was born in England 1632. Priscilla married Deacon William Carpenter 05 October 1651, in Rehoboth per Savage. She bore four of William's children: John b. 1652; William b. 1659; Priscilla 1661; and Benjamin 20 October 1663--date per Savage--which was the same day Priscilla died. (Some records indicate she d. 05 October.) Priscilla was buried in Rehoboth, MA. REFERENCES; CARPENTER & ALLIED FAMILIES by A.I.Carpenter, 1936, p.17 & 19. / []
