HISTORY: Miriam was the daughter of Edward SALE (Searle) who was born in England and emigrated, at age 24, to New England with his nephew, Daniel Preston, via "Elizabeth and Ann" in april 1635. He was at marblehead a short time, and of Weymouth MA in 1637, whence he removed to rehoboth, MA about 1643, but later returned to Weymouth, where he died about 1692. He had married first in New England about 1636 to Margaret ---, who died at Rehoboth 13 July 1664. Miriam married 10 February 16633/4 at Rehoboth, MA, William Carpenter (as Wm's second wife) whose first wife was Priscilla BENNETT, m. 1651, who died 28 Oct 1663 giving birth to 4th child a son Benjamin. Other children by Priscilla were John b. 1652, William b. 1659, and Priscilla b. 1661. Miriam and William also had 9 chidlren.
